Christmas Song Challenge Day 8

Day 8: A Song You Belt Out In The Car

You don’t even care if anyone is looking at you, when you feel it, you just gotta SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNG!  Whether it’s at a stop light or in a drive thru or while being pursued by police in a high speed chase, when that song comes on, you crank it up and belt it out!

Josh:  Tumbledown – Run, Run Rudolph

Tumbledown, Mike Herrera’s (MxPx) alt country band, give one of Chuck Berry’s Christmas hits an injection of adrenaline with their version of Run, Run Rudolph.  You may undoubtedly recognize Berry’s original cut from films like Cast AwayHome AloneJingle All The WayThe Santa Clause 2, & Deck the Halls, and the original is great, but Tumbledown bring it up a notch with more energy and volume.  And with lyrics so simple and catchy, when this song comes on in my playlist, I crank it up and sing along every time.

Joey’s Pick: Anberlin – Baby, Please Come Home

Josh already picked this song and even suggested this cover, but for me, this is the most sing-along-able version with its upbeat tempo and blazing guitars. Not that I can match Stephen Christian’s vocal range, but, hey, I can try.

Tumps: Gianni and Sarah (cover The Pogues) – Fairytale of New York

Dustin’s Pick: I don’t think I’ve ever done that.
