Last year Cheyenne Comic Con started it’s history with a bang as 12,000 people attended the comic book and pop culture convention’s first year. That’s a pretty impressive number, as it exceeds first year attendance reports for other comic conventions in Midwestern cities of similar, and even greater, population. Even in the shadow of Denver Comic Con, one of the nation’s biggest conventions, C3 drew in crowds to the beautiful frontier town.
And C3 should see continued success in 2017 with celebrity and artist guests like Lou Ferrigno (Hulk), Billy Dee Williams (Star Wars), Seth Gilliam (Walking Dead) and Mike Grell (Green Arrow). Several actors from the Superman films and Power Ranger series will also be appearing, as well as many cosplay guests and comic book artists from smaller studios all the way to big publishers like DC and Marvel.
Something you will find at C3, and maybe not any other regional convention, is Loren Coleman, one of the world’s leading cryptozoologists. If you are unfamiliar with cryptozooligy, it is the search for and study of animals whose existence is disputed or unsubstantiated, such as Big Foot, chupacabra, and the Loch Ness Monster. Coleman has been both on- and off-camera consultant to Fox/USA Network’s “In Search Of,” NBC-TV’s “Unsolved Mysteries,” A & E’s “Ancient Mysteries,” History Channel’s “In Search of History,” and “History’s Mysteries,” Discovery Channel’s “In the Unknown, ” as well as many other programs. Be sure to check out his panel!
In addition to the many celebrity, artist, and cosplay guests, vendors from all over will be selling their collectibles, art, crafts, and writings.
Cheyenne Comic Con is May 12th – 14th at Frontier Park in Cheyenne, WY.
